バッグデザイナー / ミドウジマデザイン代表

英国在住中にアンティークバッグやレザーに魅了され、帰国後バッグ製作に必要なパターンや縫製、デザインを修得。大手バッグメーカーのサンプル職人、インハウスデザイナーを経て2003年にバッグブランド 「selvedge.」を立ち上げる。

チーフデザイナーとしてオリジナルデザインを手掛ける傍ら、三越伊勢丹、高島屋などの百貨店や、UNITED ARROWS、BEAMS、TOMORROWLANDなどのセレクトショップとの協業も多数手掛ける。他方では経済産業省の推薦により海外出展を続け、英国LIBERTY、米国OPENING CEREMONYなど海外販路を広げる。
2015年「selvedge.」10周年を節目に独立しミドウジマデザインを設立。様々なバッグや小物のデザインを手掛けつつバッグブランドのプロデュースなど幅広く活動を続けている。

Midojima's passion for beauties of antique bag and material leather (which captivated her while living in England) leads her to start her career in domestic bag industry where she had a chance to fully acquire skills for pattern making, machine sewing, drawing and designing. Through building experiences as female bag sewing artisan in making sample pieces for numerous brands' collections, she reaches to the point to launch "selvedge." where her own creation as its chief designer starts. During "selvedge." decade while keeping herself busy in designing, she had been active in working with department stores and select shops such as ISETAN Mitsukoshi, Takashimaya, United Arrows, BEAMS and  Tomorrowland for their exclusive bag collections, that finally leads her to start selling "selvedge." overseas via Japan Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry's official recommendation and support. Liberty (of England) and Opening Ceremony (of America) were "selvedge." collections' main carriers outside Japan to name a few. She finishes working with "selvedge." in 2014 with the brand's 10th anniversary commemorating collection to step ahead and walk alone for launching "MIDOJIMA_DESIGN" where her contribution to the bag industry continues through designing and producing.
